If you are interested in applying for a New Start Checking Account, first find out if you meet the requirements for eligibility to join Nevada Federal Credit Union. One requirement for New Start Checking is to start direct deposit.
Reasons you can benefit from direct deposit:
- You get your money faster even when you’re not in the office on payday. While your friends are waiting in line at the bank to cash their checks, your money’s already in your account and can be accessed by using your Visa® check card.
- You get more from your paycheck. Ever had to pay 3% or more to cash a check? Not anymore. Direct deposit is free when you have a New Start Checking Account.
- It’s safer. Millions of paychecks are lost or stolen each year. With direct deposit, your pay is securely and immediately available to you 24 hours a day.
- It’s easier to manage your spending. With cash, it’s a hassle to track where your money goes. When you spend with your Visa® check card, we keep track of all that for you helping you stay on budget!
To open a New Start Checking Account with Nevada Federal, you must become a member. Membership is obtained by depositing $20.00 into a savings account. A minimum deposit of $20.00 is also required to open a checking account. A monthly fee of $19.50 will be assessed until the account has been properly managed for 12 consecutive months. Proper account management is defined as having no more than three Non-Sufficient Funds (N.S.F.) paid or unpaid year to date and no memos with restrictive instructions from the collections department. Other terms and conditions may apply. Ask for details.
